The artist has handed over the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound Mercury Prize winnings to the MVT, which operates to save the UK's independent live music spots.
Fender was awarded the award on October 16 as his third album the album was chosen as the top album of the previous year.
He has decided to hand the money over to the Music Venues Trust, in acknowledgment of the essential function small stages had in his early career.
"I would not have achieved my current career if it wasn't for all the shows I performed around the North East, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," stated Fender. "These spaces are legendary, but they are in difficulty."
From early 2023 onward, more than 150 of these spaces have permanently closed – about 16% of the total UK scene.
Recently, well-known musicians like Pulp, the group Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its attempts to keep the scene afloat, by applying a modest fee to their ticket costs, which benefits independent venues.
Fender also joined in, generating in excess of £100,000 on his recent tour to support numerous grassroots venues across the UK.
The money supported venues that were facing potential shutdown due to difficulties arising from flooding, blazes and personal losses, as well as permit problems, legal disputes and neighbor objections.
Additional spaces were granted financial assistance in modernizing facilities and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted musicians and concertgoers.
"The idea that funds from concerts in major spaces supports the smaller venues, where it all starts for performers like me, is just common sense," the star has commented.
Fender is among several artists to donate his honor funds to charitable organizations.
In Pulp won the trophy in the year 1996 for their release their work, frontman Jarvis Cocker stated that the group would give their cash to the charity War Child.
During 2002, artist Ms Dynamite split her prize among several charities, including the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.
"And I gave a grand to the center, to their classes, because I did gymnastics when I was a child and they required better apparatus," she explained to outlets.
Two years ago, Ezra Collective donated their funds to the local youth club that supported their band, as well as other grassroots music organisations.
Also the 1994 recipients the group contributed their prize to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was diagnosed the condition.
"Receiving the award was quite enough," stated artist the singer. "The prize was the bonus but we didn't need the bonus, because we had the honor. So our success impacted another person's life."
Last week, the MVT shared it had rescued a couple of small stages in that region, by placing them under public stewardship.
One venue in that area and The Croft in Bristol were bought under the Own Our Venues program, which is backed by the arts council and enthusiasts who acquire "stakes" in the properties.
